The Mansfield Junior Cubs will be trying to get on the plus side in the win column this week with a couple of scheduled road games.

The team’s last outing on Sunday, June 12, resulted in an 8-4 win over the Ivy Junior Rangers and brought their record to 4-4 for the season.

The Cubs had a bit of break before heading up to Midland on Tuesday, June 21, to take on the Junior Twins at Tiffin Park.

The result of that game were not available at press time.

On Thursday, June 23, the team is scheduled to meet up with Ivy Rangers at the Ivy diamond just off Highway 27, south of Barrie.

The four team Junior division of the North Dufferin Baseball League has a pretty tight line-up in the standings so far.

The New Lowell Knights are leading with a 7-4 record and 14 points.

The Ivy Rangers are in the number two spot with a 5-4 record and 11 points.

Mansfield is currently in the number three spot with an even 4-4 record.

Midland is in fourth place winning only one game after six outings this season.

That could all change as there are seven games over the next week with Mansfield and Ivy scheduled to play three games and Midland and New Lowell having four games on their schedule.

The Cubs will be returning to their home diamond at Mansfield Park on Monday, June 27, when they will host the New Lowell Knights.

The first pitch for that game is slated for 6.30 p.m.
