Come December, the term “window shopping” takes on new meaning as boutiques put their creative might into an unspoken competition for the most imaginative displays, truly making our downtown core a Window Wonderland.
You really should take a walk-through Shelburne’s downtown core that offers a dazzling assortment of retail window displays and immerse yourself in the magic of the holidays.
The friendly neighbourhood window display competition allows for our local businesses to truly reflect their vibrant personalities, and our community to directly participate and engage with the businesses.
It is said that a business’s window offers a split-second opportunity to connect with the next potential customers, to show that the store can meet the customer’s practical and emotional needs.
The winner, now for two consecutive years in a row, told the Shelburne Free Press prior to the contest, “Cobwebs & Caviar window displays are a source of pride and salesmanship for us,” says A.J. Cavey. “We love to show off new goodies or fashions and customers often come in to say they look forward to seeing each change. We love our town and truly try our best to move with the spirit of creating a fun and vibrant downtown.”
Second place was awarded to Jelly Craft Bakery with third place being taken by Second Fiddle this year.
With the snow falling lately, it’s time to enjoy all the beautiful holiday windows downtown core and peruse the unique wares of the shops for exceptional finds this holiday season.
The staff of businesses in the area work so hard to make it a merry place and they have really outdone themselves this year!
