On Saturday July 6th, at 10:30 p.m. Dufferin OPP were dispatched to a serious motor vehicle collision with injuries on Highway 10 just south of the 20th side-road in the Town of Mono, Dufferin County.
Preliminary investigation reveals a Black Lincoln navigator was southbound on Highway 10 when it pulled out to pass a Tractor Trailer and struck a Northbound green Chevrolet Malibu in a head-on collision. Several parties were trapped in the green Malibu and extricated by Shelburne Fire Department.
The driver of Lincoln suffered minor injuries. The male passenger from Brampton suffered serious but non life threatening injuries.
The driver of Chevrolet Malibu and two of his three passengers all of Grey Highlands suffered serious but non life threatening injuries.
The remaining female passenger in the Malibu from Grey Highlands suffered life threatening injuries. She is in a Toronto Hospital and as July 8 is in stable condition
All injured involved persons were transported to Headwaters Health Centre by Dufferin EMS.
OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) attended to process the scene and the Highway was closed for several hours.
After conducting a thorough investigation and interviewing multiple witnesses the driver of the Lincoln Karanvir Kang, 24 years old of Brampton was arrested for Dangerous Driving Causing Bodily Harm contrary to section 249(3) of the Criminal Code of Canada. Kang was held for a show cause hearing.
