Fines Home Hardware hosts bbq in support of special Olympian

September 13, 2013   ·   0 Comments

Bill Fines, owner of the Shelburne Home Hardware Building Centre, once again showed his support of the Special Olympics at the 23rd Annual Labour Day Yard & Tent Sale. The BBQ raised another $1000 for the program and was greatly accepted by the customers who received free hot dogs and a beverage for a donation. The food was donated by The Fines Team and the event was a complete success with the help of volunteers Monica and Jeoff. Funds raised will support the Dufferin Dodgers baseball program, which Jeoff Dunlop runs and that Special Olympian Christopher Dawe is a participant. “A special thanks to his mom and dad for bringing him up for the two day event,” said Fines. “He served up the ultimate hot dog and graciously prepped the food for everyone who showed up to support him and his team of Special Olympians in a game they love to play.” Pictured, from left: Bill Gillam (Owner, Shelburne Home Hardware Building Centre), David Dawe (Dad), Christopher Dawe (Special Olympian), Shirley Dawe (Mom), Monica Muckenfuss (Special Olympics Assistant & Social Coordinator), Jeoff Dunlop (Special Olympics Coordinator and Coach & Mentor for the program).
