On May 6, at 6:12 p.m., a concerned citizen contacted the OPP Communications Centre in Orillia to report a white Freighliner Tractor/Trailer unit almost rear ended two automobiles on Highway 10 in Mono. Several officers attended the area and located the Freightliner Tractor. As a result, the officers activated their emergency equipment and intercepted the motor vehicle at Highway 89 and Highway 10. Upon speaking with the male driver, the officers detected a strong odour of alcohol on the her breath. Subsequently, the driver was arrested and transported to Shelburne Police Station for further testing. Once the investigation was concluded, Sean Bryce Crandall, 41 years of age, of Howick Township was arrested and charged with Driving with over 80 mgs of alcohol. The Administrative Drivers’ Licence Suspension (ADLS) program was initiated and his tractor trailer was impounded for seven days. The accused is scheduled to make his first appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on May 27th.
