Dufferin Reads: One Book One County

Tuesday, May 13, at 7 p.m. was the Grand Finale with Robert J, Sawyer. What a terrific event. Robert and his editor Adrienne Kerr delighted the audience with their discussion about the writing process about the writing process. The interaction brought out some of the key issues, Robert addresses in his writing. I am looking forward to reading Red Planet Blues which is a crime fiction novel set on Mars. He always has a different twist and a controversial ending. We have had some great feedback already on how much the attendees enjoyed the event A nice contingent of Shelburne patrons were there and it was great to see member’s of our Book club in the audience. Prior to the event some of us went for dinner with the author, his wife and Adrienne. Beverly Ford-Arnold took it on as a personal challenge to read all of Robert’s books. She joined us for dinner and was able to discussion his writing first-hand with Robert, She was delighted to have the opportunity and he was impressed that she had taken the time to read all 24 of his books. We were also pleased to have MPP Sylvia Jones and her husband attend this evening. Sylvia is a great supporter of the One Book One County initiative. At then, Brenda Juno and Nancy Frater , Book Lore held out a teaser for next year’s event.
