Join the Ontario SPCA Friends for Life Walk Saturday September 20.
“We want this to be our biggest community walk ever and we need your support,” said Carol Hulcoop Branch Manager.
If you’re not already registered, register online now. www.friendsforlifewalk.ca. If you’ve registered, keep fundraising to raise more money for the animals.
The Orangeville walk will support the local Orangeville & District Branch Animal Shelter and Adoption Centre. You can walk, run, ride your bike, in-line skate, push a stroller or walk your dog!
“This year we have a new location for the Walk at the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 200 Alder St, Orangeville; across the road from the Alder Street Recreation Centre. Check in starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 11 a.m. when the walk starts,” said Hulcoop. “Registration will be inside the Church and outside at the tent will be Tim Bits and water and juice. It will be the same event with friends greeting each other, wonderful photographs by Paul George, dogs having their nails trimmed, and great music on the sound system. Join our beautiful Spokes Dog Maggie and her family at the ‘unhooking of the leashes’ at exactly 11. It’s so thrilling to see hundreds of people and dogs heading out knowing that together this group of animal lovers has raised thousands of dollars to help save the lives of many animals.”
The excitement doesn’t end with the return of the walkers to the Church – Toppers pizza lunch, pet portraits and nail clips await you, and last but definitely not least, stay for the fun contests.
Plan to participate; if you don’t enter, stay to watch the fun from 1 – 2:30 p.m.
