On Wednesday, September 10th, Shelburne Police investigated allegations of current and historical domestic abuse. As a result of the investigation a Shelburne man in his 40s was arrested the same day. The man was charged with three counts of assault and two counts of choking. He was held for a bail hearing which took place on September 11th. The accused male was released with numerous conditions imposed by the courts. On Saturday September 13th the Shelburne Police investigated allegations that the same man was breaching some of the conditions he was placed on just two days prior. As a result the male was arrested again and charged with two counts of breach of recognizance. The name of the accused is being withheld for the benefit and safety of the victim and witnesses.
