The Rotary Club of Shelburne presented Headwaters Health Care Foundation Executive Director Joan Burdette and Headwaters Health Care Centre President & CEO Liz Ruegg with a donation of $8,333.33 on December 10th. This donation represents the first two installments in their multi-year, $12,500 contribution to Headwaters Health Care Foundation’s Commitment to Care Campaign.
The Rotary Club of Shelburne made the very first pledge to the Commitment to Care Campaign,” said Joan Burdette. “Their generosity continues with this, their second pledge, which brings the Club’s total Campaign donation to $37,500. The Club’s gift will help expand patient programs and services, bring leading edge technology into the hospital, and help more people in Dufferin-Caledon receive the care they need close to home.”
“We challenge others in the community to financially support our local hospital. Every donation, regardless of the size, enables our hospital to expand and to purchase leading edge medical equipment to meet the growing needs of our community,” said Club member and Hospital Board member Bill Waite.
Since 1987, the Rotary Club of Shelburne has donated $125,000 to Headwaters Health Care Foundation.
The $16 million Commitment to Care Campaign will invest $5.5 million to redevelop, renovate and expand the outpatient Ambulatory Care Area and add additional surgical capacity, and purchase $10.5 million worth of cutting edge medical equipment and technology to support those programs and services.
