Philomena Logel greeting new Canadians Razan, Hamoudi and Fatema Alhajali at Pearson airport on Monday, December 14th (not in the photo husband/dad Emad.) The Syrian family sponsored by the Headwater Refugee Sponsorship Committee travelled over 30 hours to come to Canada. They have been living in Jordan for nearly four years seeking refuge from the war in Syria. The family is staying with the Brian and Philomena Logel while their home is being prepared by the sponsorship group. Later in the week Brian Logel treated the family to the much loved Canadian tradition of a winter walk into the bush to get a Christmas tree. Welcome home to the Alhajali’s from the Shelburne Free Press.
