On Thursday December 17, at 2:40 p.m. Dufferin OPP were conducting speed enforcement on Hockley Road opposite Mono-Amaranth School in the Town on Mono.
Police observed a westbound 2005 Pontiac Montana van travelling at a high rate of speed. Police activated their radar unit and clocked the vehicle at 108 km per hour in a posted 50 km school safety zone.
A traffic stop was initiated and 36 year old male driver from Brampton, was charged with Race Motor vehicle. His vehicle was towed and impounded for 7days.
His driver’s license was suspended for 7 days.
The accused will appear in Orangeville court at a later date to answer to the charge.
