OPP lay charges in suspicious death in Mulmur

On Friday January 1st, 2016 at 7:15 p.m., officers from Dufferin Detachment of the OPP responded to a report of a suspicious death at a residence located on Dufferin County Road 21 in Mulmur Township.
Upon arrival of the police, a male, who was initially attended to by Dufferin EMS was found deceased.
The deceased male has been identified as 43-year old Gordon Josie of Dundalk, and next of kin notifications are complete.
As a result of the ongoing OPP investigation, an arrest has been made in connection to this incident.
Late Sunday afternoon, under the direction of Detective Inspector Rob Hagerman and Detective Staff Sergeant Rob Lake of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), Detectives from the Caledon-Dufferin Crime Unit arrested and charged 58-year old Thomas McGachy of Mulmur Township with Manslaughter, contrary to section 236(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
He is being held in custody and appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Orangeville on January 4th.
