Shelburne will be pleased to know that KTH’s plans for expansion are right on track and running smoothly. With the completion of Phase I, the construction of the new building, KTH is ready for Phase II to get underway. On November 1st, the new building will be seeing the beginning of new equipment being brought in which will comprise of more welding to support Honda’s growing production needs. Phase III is expected to be completed by May 1st, and excitement is already brewing for the first week of July when the company will hold it’s official and highly anticipated ribbon cutting ceremony.
In addition to the great and positive impact KTH has already made to the economic stability of Shelburne, being known for the their “green” approach is not something the company takes lightly and being very invested in the environment, Shane Hall, Assistant Vice President Plant Manager commented, “All of the trees have been successfully replanted as promised. We work with the local Scouts and want people to know we have already used hydro seed on areas of the berm that might have the potential for washing out, and this will also ensure the green space in and around KTH Park.”
“The berm acts as a sound barrier, a privacy divider and is 15 meters tall,” commented Tom Cunningham, assistant vice president of administration.
And what does the expansion mean for future employment opportunities with KTH?
According to Sue Peterson, human resources assistant manager for KTH, there are employment opportunities at present and for future. Those interested can discover what is best for them by exploring opportunities through the staffing agency.
New building, new job opportunities, more expansion, preserving green space…does it get any better than that? KTH is also planning a walking path around its establishment for staff to enjoy while staying fit!
