Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the OPP have been tasked with theft investigations since the New Year involving items taken from local residences.
Officers would like to remind homeowners to secure their property by removing the keys, storing their property out of sight when not in use and using a locked building for storage when available.
The use of ample lighting in property storage area’s has been shown to be a theft deterrent. Crimes of opportunity are preventable however as a snowmobile owner or home owner you must contribute and do your part to help prevent these crimes.
Failure to do your part only invites criminals into your neighbourhood and into your life. Don’t become a victim!
