RIDE check results in drug charges

Shelburne Police were conducting a R.I.D.E. spot check during the early morning hours on Friday April 3rd. At 12:36 a.m. a red Honda car entered the spot check which quickly caught an officer’s attention. A roadside investigation was initiated and resulted in almost 30 grams of marijuana being seized.

As a result of the investigation, 25 year old Thomas Watson of Flesherton was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, under the Federal Controlled Drugs and Substance Act. Watson was released on an appearance notice with a court date in May.
