Silent Auction & Book Sale
November 28th is the day of our Silent Auction and Book Sale. We have already received some great items; lovely wooden grow charts, art work and just today some original Haida jewelry. We also have a lovely basket with blanket, pillow, mugs and hot chocolate treats for a cold winter evening from Granny Taught Us How. We welcome all donations gratefully to make this the best fundraiser ever! And of course, your support in purchasing items is also very much appreciated.
Winter Hours
Our new hours on Friday will be 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. instead of 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. This will be in effect November 1, 2015 to April 30, 2016.
New Program – Technology
Our really exciting news is our new fun and free Technology teaching program, Tech Tutor, Thursdays and Fridays; we will be offering one on one session for Seniors in our community. We received a grant to purchase 4 new iPads and will be using them to teach you! If you have your own iPad, please feel free to bring it and learn lots more of its features. Emily will be offering the instruction so please call and book a time. We need to book you for a specific time so everyone gets a great experience. As of now, we only have one slot left. We’re excited about this and hope you are too! Call 519 925-2168 to schedule your session.
Sunday Afternoon Events
This year, we are offering two Christmas décor workshops with instruction by Shirley from Shirley’s Garden Supply and Flower Shop. This is a great way to get your home ready for Christmas.
Sunday, November 22, 2015: 1–4 p.m.: Outdoor Container décor. All the materials you need will be supplied to create your very own unique outdoor pot. The cost is $75 and includes instruction, a metal container, greenery and décor items to create a special, festive entry door decoration to welcome your friends and family.
Sunday, December 20: 1–4 p.m.: Holiday table or mantel centerpiece. Just in time for your Christmas dinner, you will learn how to create a beautiful table centerpiece. All the flowers, greens and other materials will be supplied. The cost of this workshop is $40. The great thing about these workshops is that you will learn skills so you can create beautiful flower arrangements for any occasion.
