On November 4, Dufferin OPP were conducting a RIDE Program on Concession 2/3 in Town of Grand Valley. A GMC pickup drove up to the traffic stop and officers detected an odour of alcoholic beverage on male driver’s breath.
The driver performed a roadside test on an approved screening device and registered a fail. He was immediately arrested and taken to Dufferin Detachment for breath tests.
As a result Stephen Burnett, 46 years of age, of Wellington North, Ontario was charged with operating motor vehicle over 80 mgs of alcohol contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. His drivers license was suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded.
The accused will appear in Orangeville Court at a later date to answer to the charge.
