Muskies fall to Mapleton–Minto

November 13, 2015   ·   0 Comments

It wasn’t a good weekend for the Shelburne Muskies when they played back-to-back games against the Mapleton–Minto 81’s.
They had one of their most disappointing weekends of the season and most likely going to be spending time in practice trying to figure out where they had a breakdown in both games.
The Muskies went on the road on Friday night to the 81’s home barn in Palmerston and took their fifth loss of the season when they gave up ten goals to the Mapleton–Minto team.
The final was 10–5.
Returning to the Centre Dufferin Recreation Complex in Shelburne the following night for a re-match, the Muskies again came up short.
After getting underway with an 8 p.m. start, the Muskies were shut-out in the scoring for the night and lost 10–0 to the visitors.
That leaves the 81’s still in first place in the North Division of the WOAA and undefeated after eight games.
They are battling for League supremacy with the Clinton Raiders of the South Division who have eights wins and a single loss for 17 points and a first place in the League over all.
The Muskies are struggling to get on the plus side for the 2015 season and currently have a 2–7 record.
That includes one game they gave up in overtime.
The Muskies will be back at it this weekend and have a couple of chances to put some numbers in the points column.
On Friday, November 13, the squad will travel to Riply to take on the Wolves with an 8:30 p.m. start.
They will be back on home ice in Shelburne the following night, Saturday, November 14, to host the Durham Thundercats.
The puck drop is scheduled for 8 p.m. at the CDRC.
