The Royal Bank (RBC) in Shelburne presented a Fraud Advice event in conjunction with the Town of Shelburne Police Service. With fraud against a person, identity theft and fraud against a business being relevant in our community this event focused on protecting yourself. With over a dozen people in attendance learning of several different scams that have seen over 13 million dollars in losses last year alone. Attendees saw first hand how believable a scam can be, and were given the chance to ask questions at the end of the presentation. Pictured is Royal Bank Branch Manager Josie Green and Constable Paul Neumann who presented a Fraud Advice event Wednesday November 18th at the Royal Bank located on Owen Sound Street. Green and Neumann encourage people to ask questions at the first sign that something seems suspicious. For more information on fraud you can contact the Canadian Anti–Fraud Centre at 705 494-3182.
