Impaired

On Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 5:12 p.m. Dufferin OPP were dispatched to a single motor vehicle rollover collision on Dufferin County Road 17 and the 3rd Line in Melancthon.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a westbound Lincoln Continental sedan, on Dufferin Road 17, lost control and rolled into ditch coming to rest on its roof. The driver crawled out of the vehicle and upon arrival police observed that he showed obvious signs of intoxication was arrested and taken Dufferin OPP for breath tests.
As result of police investigation Floyd Edward Collins, 54 years of age of Melancthon Township was charged with Impaired Driving and Operate Motor Vehicle over 80 mgs of alcohol contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused will appear in Orangeville court at a later date to answer to the charges. The accused’s driver’s license was suspended for 90 day under Administrative Driver License Suspension. His vehicle was towed.
