Tanning bed safety

January 15, 2016   ·   0 Comments

Many people flock to tanning salons on a daily basis for a tan that they think will make them look thinner or clear up visible skin problems. Unfortunately, these people often focus so much on getting a great tan that they often forget about practicing tanning bed safety.
It is ironic to think that as much as tans are a symbol of status and beauty in the present society, not so long ago people had very different views in regards to tans. Up until the early 20th century, women of the upper classes always protected their skin against the sun since those with tans were workers.
I as look forward to heading down south for a week, I find myself heading to Oasis Tanning and Esthetics to start my vacation with some color. As a result, I decided to educate everyone on tanning bed safety with regards to keeping the skin healthy while getting a nice tan at the same time. Tanning bed safety has a lot to do with moisturizing the skin to prevent the skin from premature aging and from looking leathery.
The skin is not the only thing that should be protected as a matter of practicing tanning bed safety. Eyes are naturally quite sensitive to extreme light, thus in order to avoid retina damage, you should always wear protective goggles.
Perhaps the most obvious rule of tanning bed safety is in regards to the amount of time one spends tanning. You cannot simply start tanning in a high-intensity bed for ten minutes at a time. Tanning times start at sometimes as little as 2 minutes and are built up gradually as the tan becomes darker. Also, one should not use a tanning bed every day. A deep tan will only need to be maintained about once a week, and for those who are working up to a tan, make sure each session is at least two days apart.
Tanning bed safety is something that everyone should practice. Before using any type of bed, be aware of all the risks involved. After all, a tan can be physically very appealing, but it can also damage the skin. If ever in doubt, be sure to ask one of the very informed staff at Oasis Tanning and Esthetics for advice as they are all trained and certified with Smart Tan. With these helpful, practical tanning bed tips, you can achieve the beautiful, bronzed skin you’ve been dreaming of, while still protecting your skin.
When visiting Oasis Tanning and Esthetics make sure to book one of their many other treatments that they offer such as their Pamper Package which includes a massage, pedicure and a facial all for the low price of $50. Wow! Also available are tanning packages with a Lotion Promotion. Recently they have also added ear piercing to their list of services available.
If you are one of Oasis Tanning and Esthetics regular customers, they would like to thank you for being patient as they continue to renovate and if you have never been in you should definitely stop by for a mani or pedi. Their address is 526 Main Street or you can call them at 519 925-9900.
