The Shelburne Muskies had a three week layoff over the holidays but returned to two road games over the weekend.
On Friday, January 8, the team travelled to Shallow Lake to take on the Crushers.
The teams were tied up three times before going into overtime. The Crushers squeezed out the win scoring just a minute into the overtime period.
Nick Hodgson, Tyler Hogan, and Mike Spearing picked up the goals for the Muskies.
Chris Greer added two helpers while Ed Gaffney, Nat King, Spearing and Hodgson added singles.
The Muskies were back on the ice the following night in Lucknow to take on the Lancers.
The Shelburne team out-shot the Lucknow squad 35–25 but couldn’t get the puck past a hot Lancers goalie.
The muskies trailed 2–0 after the first period before the home side added another in the third to take a 3–0 lead.
Muskies’ Nat King closed the gap with ten minutes left on the clock.
The game ended with a final Lucknow empty net goal to take the 4–1 win.
The Muskies now have five straight games where they had four goals against them.
The Muskies will be back on the road this weekend to meet up with the Mapleton-Minto 81’s on Friday, January 15.
They will return to the Centre Dufferin Recreation Complex the following night, Saturday, January 16, to host the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks.
Game time is 8 p.m.
