Your dirty car can make you a winner at Trillium Ford – Shelburne

Deanna Lee May of Proton Station is the winner of the 2nd Dirty Car Contest at Trillium Ford, Shelburne.

Deanna nominated her 2011 Ford F–150 Super Crew 4×4 pickup truck, that she calls “Ruby Red”, because it needed a good cleaning for spring.

“I was in the dealership getting an oil change and saw the poster for the Dirty Car Contest on the bulletin board,” Deanna said. “I thought, what the heck, I have a dirty truck. I’ll enter!”

Now glad she took the chance, Deanna has won a Gold Detailing Package worth $169.99 plus HST, which includes: a full interior clean with carpet shampoo, exterior wash with hand chamois dry, and engine shampoo.

Deanna says she plans to wait until July to use her certificate as she has entered her vehicle in a truck show for that month. A Ford fan for a long time, Deanna and her spouse, Christopher Barnard, currently own five Ford vehicles, including a 1963 Mercury M250 pickup truck that she is restoring herself.

“I bought the truck on Kijiji for $700,” Deanna shared. “I was shocked to learn that the truck has 6,300 miles on it, and I am only the second owner.”

May is painting the truck, replacing the flooring and brakes and reinstalling wood paneling in the box to “keep the truck as original as possible.”

Deanna and her husband use their Ford vehicles for rock crawling and off-roading.

Mr. Barnard drives a Ford F–350 crew cab, long box, diesel, standard (for work purposes), and a 1996 Ford Ranger as his off-road vehicle.

A lucky week for Deanna, she also won a free skydiving certificate in another Facebook contest – perfect for this adventurous young lady.

The third, and final, Dirty Car Contest winner will be announced at Trillium Ford on April 29.

Congratulations Deanna! And good luck Ford fans!
