A familiar musical family around Shelburne, especially during Fiddlefest, the Leahy’s will perform at Westminster United Church in Orangeville as “Rhythmfoot” in a Leahy Family Concert this Sunday, April 17, at 2 p.m.
The family is all about “rhythm through music, dance and soul.”
Frank and Chanda Leahy live in Orangeville, where Chanda operates Chanda’s School of Dance, now celebrating its 20th year, and Frank is the drummer in the band Leahy which tours internationally.
The couple says with their “love of music and dance, it was only natural to pass it down to their six children who carry on the tradition.”
For the past three years, they have enjoyed performing for local fairs and festivals as well as competing in Fiddle and Stepdance competitions.
Xavier, age 12, plays accordion, fiddle and dances. Aliyah, age 10, Mariah, 7 and Savannah, 6, and Julayna 4, love to dance, sing, and play the fiddle.
It’s all about the beat!
Tickets for the one hour long show are $10 for adults and $5 for youth.
