All-Star weekend fun with the Shelburne Wolves

April 16, 2016   ·   0 Comments

Joseph Woollett, Issac Fazackerly and Darrin Taylor were lucky enough to represent Shelburne in the Rep Team Minor Hockey League last weekend, April 8 and 9, at the annual ALL STARS games in Collingwood.

The host to the Ontario Local Hockey League games, Collingwood put on a spectacular event.

A showcase of local hockey players, chosen for their talent by local coaches throughout Ontario to partake in a fun-filled two days of games, players worked together with their season’s opponents, in harmony and spending their last few hours on the ice before the season comes to a  close.

Fun was the name of the game as two teams of 16, made up of three players came together from every minor hockey town,  Midland and Elmvale, Wasaga , Penetang, Dundalk, and more.

This was a great way to come back down to earth after the hectic season of hockey and blend with their opponents, and show real sportsmanship working closely with each other.

The Shelburne boys had a great day and although the final score meant their team took a loss of 5-4, this time it really didn’t matter.

The day ended with games and shoot outs, and raffles.

Shelburne had a total of 14 players also representing the local league teams on the Sunday, ranging from ages 6-1, a great achievement for our small town to have so many talented hockey players.

Well done, Shelburne!

A big congratulations also goes out to Shelburne’s Zach Trott on being selected for the OHL League last week. We all wish him great success; another Aaron Downey on the horizon.

Look out Redwings!
