The cast of LP Stage Productions’ newest show, a full length adult and youth cast production of The Wizard of Oz featuring many young local “Munchkins” rehearses at Glenbrook Elementary School under the musical direction of teacher Jennifer Robertson. The double cast of more than 50 performers has been rehearsing twice a week in preparation for a spring opening at Grace Tipling Hall. Known for its excellent Broadway musical productions, including Annie, Peter Pan, Gypsy and, most recently, Spamalot, LP Stage Productions promises to outdo itself once more with the much loved classic based on the 1939 film starring Judy Garland and the original books by L. Frank Baum. The director of the show, Danielle Gamache, says she is “thrilled to be directing this show.” “Our cast and crew are all very excited to bring this magical story to life on stage,” she says. “This is one of my childhood favourites and I can’t wait to share this with audiences at Grace Tipling Hall.” Choreography will be by Kristen Gamache. Producer Alison Port takes on the role of Stage Manager and Port’s partner, Dale Lundy, will design and build the set. You will also get a chance to see some of those founding members of LP Stage Productions on stage as well! Mark your calendars for The Wizard of Oz at Grace Tipling Hall, running May 27- June 4.
