Single vehicle rollover in Mulmur leads to impaired charges

The Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a driver with impaired operation following a single vehicle collision investigation in the Township of Mulmur. 

On March 13, shortly after 3:30 a.m., officers from Dufferin OPP responded to a report of a single vehicle collision in which a vehicle left the roadway rolling twice before landing in a ditch on Highway 89 in Mulmur. 

Officers located the driver and vehicle and were led into an impaired operation investigation.

As a result, Craig JAMES, 34-year-old, from Pickering has been charged with:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

• Novice driver – Blood alcohol concentration above zero

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville in April 2023, to answer to the charges. Their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days. These charges have not been proven in court.
