Impaired driver taken off road, charged with resisting officer

The Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a driver with impaired operation and removed the driver from the road.

On April 26, 2023, at approximately 10:10 p.m., officers from Dufferin OPP responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver in the area of Highway 10 and Broadway in the Town of Orangeville. Officers located the vehicle a short time later and were led into an impaired driving investigation.

As a result, Patryk RODYCOW, 29-year-old from Orangeville, has been charged with:

• Operation while impaired – alcohol
and drugs

• Failure of refusal to comply with demand

• Obstruct Peace Officer

• Resist Peace Officer

• Driving while under suspension

• Fail to surrender permit

• Fail to have insurance card

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville in May 2023, to answer to the charges. Their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle impounded for a period of 7 days.
