Museum of Dufferin to hold several events through early November

The Museum of Dufferin (MoD), based out of Mulmur, is holding several events next month. 

MoD, a place that collects and preserves the stories of the people, places and culture of Dufferin County, has six events coming up in November. 

Honouring Our Veterans at Nov. 2, 10:30 a.m.

Join us at the Museum of Dufferin for the Veterans’ Week Ceremony. 

The ceremony will be led by representatives of the Shelburne Legion Branch 220 and Orangeville Legion Branch 223. 

The ceremony is followed by a presentation by local historian and Governor General’s Award Winner, Neil Orford.

The Poppy Project at Nov. 2, 

11 am to 3:30 p.m.

Learn to crochet a poppy in this free workshop dedicated to creating beautiful poppies for a display to honour veterans past and present.

MoD Masterclass for Kids & Teens: Fighting Fish Line Art at Nov. 9, 

10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Join local artist Stephanie Casino Esguerra! Students will first learn a variety of line art techniques for drawing still-life objects, and then use those techniques to create their own fighting fish (betta fish) line art! The cost to attend is $15 plus HST per participant.

MoD-Tots: Buildings and Structures | Nov. 13, two sessions: 9 to 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. to noon

Get your toolbelt ready for a fun morning of assembly, engineering and demolition with your toddler through tot-friendly construction themed crafts and sensory play! The cost is $7 plus HST per child. Register for the event online at dufferinmuseum.com/event/mod-tots.

Ask the Archivist: Genealogy Brick Wall at Nov. 13, 9 a.m. to noon

Have you hit a “brick wall” in your genealogy research? 

Book a personal one-hour appointment with the Archivist at MoD and they will work to turn that brick wall into a pit stop!

Holiday Treasures Craft Market | Nov. 27, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Join us for the 20th Annual Holiday Treasures Arts & Crafts Sale at the Museum of Dufferin in picturesque Mulmur. 

Shop the works of over 68 vendors, makers and craft-persons in the Main Gallery.
