Crime Stoppers quarterly report

During this quarter, 575 new anonymous tips were received along with 725 follow-ups to existing tips which resulted in more than 1,000 calls to the program.  These tips assisted the Police to clear 21 cases resulting in 25 arrests and 43 charges being laid for a variety of offences including Criminal Code, Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Highway Traffic Act.

$145,987 in illegal drugs and property were recovered by Police during the 3rd quarter of 2013.

During the same period in 2012, 613 new tips were received and 30 cases were cleared by Police.

The Crime Stoppers of Simoce-Dufferin-Muskoka Board approved $3,850 in reward payments for successful tips this quarter.  Since inception in 1987, our program has approved $284,727 in rewards to Tipsters who have helped solve crimes in Simcoe-Dufferin-Muskoka.

A successful Information Night and Volunteer Drive was held in Dufferin recently.
