On Tuesday October 22, at 3:10 p.m. Dufferin OPP Traffic Unit were conducting Radar Patrol on eastbound Hockley Road in the Town of Mono. An Eastbound Lincoln was travelling at 105 km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone. The 69 year old male driver from Bobcaygeon was charged with Race Motor vehicle under the Highway traffic Act
Also on October 22, at 3:48 p.m. Dufferin OPP Traffic Unit stopped a Toyota eastbound travelling at 108 km/hr in a posted 50 km/hr zone in same location as previous offence. The 22 year old female driver from Toronto was charged with Race Motor Vehicle under Highway Traffic Act.
Both driver’s had their license’s suspended for 7 days and vehicles were impounded for 7 days. The drivers were charged with Race motor vehicle contrary to Highway Traffic Act
Each offender will appear in Orangeville Court at a later date to answer to the charges.
Police are reminding residents to contact the OPP Communications Centre immediately at 1-888-310-1122 to report any traffic complaints in the area. Information such as driver and vehicle descriptions, as well as direction of travel are useful tools for investigators.
