Impaired driver stopped at R.I.D.E.

On Sunday, June 1, members of Grey County OPP and Highway Safety Division – Mount Forest Traffic Management Unit, were conducting a R.I.D.E. spot check on the 8th Concession at MacDonald Rd. in the Municipality of Grey Highlands. At 3:59 p.m., police checked a 1986 Chevrolet Caprice motor vehicle that had stopped and found that the driver had been drinking alcohol. After failing a road side breath test, the driver was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with over 80 mg of alcohol in his system and brought to the Markdale Detachment for further breath tests. A bottle of alcohol was seized from under the driver’s seat. Brent Lyn Gray, 42, of Shelburne, was charged with impaired – over 80 milligrams. He was also charged with driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available under the Liquor Licence Act and fail to properly wear a seat belt under the Highway Traffic Act.
