Diamond Auto Glass raises the fundraising bar for SPCA with Corporate Match Fund Raising Challenge

July 2, 2014   ·   0 Comments

On Saturday, June 14th, Diamond Auto Glass in Shelburne held a fundraising Car Wash event benefitting the local SPCA.

The event was a true success, and now Diamond Auto Glass has issued a corporate challenge to all businesses in the Industrial Park to follow its lead, matching the money raised.

“We really wanted to help animals and raise money for the SPCA,” commented part time Diamond Auto Glass employee, Brooklynn Williams who commandeered her brother, Connor Williams and friends, Alyssa Holliday, Alyssa Lugano, and Volunteer Dennis Kidd on barbeque duty, to help out at the Car Wash Fundraising Event where for $4 interested donators, received a Carwash, Sausage/Hamburger and drink knowing all proceeds went to the SPCA.

At the end of the day, the event far surpassed the expectations of Diamond Auto Glass owner, Allan Crandlemire commenting, “The car wash went better than we could have expected or hoped for. At 12 noon, a steady stream of vehicles started coming in and we didn’t finish until 6 p.m. when we finally rolled up the hoses. We washed everything from a motorcycle to a broom truck from Power Tel. The day actually ended with a steady stream of Power Tel trucks and we thank them very much on behalf of the SPCA for their support. I don’t have all the exact figures yet, but with corporate matches and current challenges I am confident funds raised will be $1000 or even higher after everything is tallied up.”

Crandlemire also wanted to thank everyone for their support including Foodland, Orangeville Equipment Rentals, and & Nappa Auto Parts for taking part in the Corporate Sponsor Match Challenge noting tax receipts were available as well.
