Seven year old Erin Osborne of Shelburne is grinning up to her “ears” of corn available from Besley’s Country Market. The Besley corn will be the featured item of the Shelburne Farmer’s Market’s Corn Roast Day next Thursday, August 14th. Located at 716 Victoria Street, the Farmer’s Market features a dozen or more farm vendors selling locally grown produce and crafts, with everything from home cooked catering to fresh garlic, vegetables, fruit, preserves, plants, baking, honey, syrup, bread, eggs, meats and more. Corn Roast Day is just one of many special events’ days running throughout the summer. Previous events included Fire Department Day, Farm Day and Opening Celebrations. Coming up is the Corn Roast August 14th, Potato Day September 11th and Catapult Pumpkin Launch October 2nd. Shelburne Farmers’ Market is open Thursdays, weekly from 3–7 p.m. until October 9th. Entertainment at the Corn Roast will include music, face painting and balloon animals. For more information visit Shelburne Farmers’ Market on Facebook.
